What to Expect at Your First Meeting

What IS at a meeting

  • A warm welcome from fellow members
  • Sharing from people who understand
  • A structured, predictable format
  • Complete anonymity and confidentiality
  • Hope from people who have recovered

What is NOT at a meeting

  • No weigh-ins
  • No cost or membership fees
  • No judgment about what you ate
  • No requirement to speak
  • No religion — spiritual, not religious

How CEA-HOW is Different

CEA-HOW offers a structured approach to recovery. While other programs treat program elements as suggestions, we've found that treating them as requirements gives us the structure we need.

Structured Food Plan

Three weighed and measured meals daily, with abstinence from sugar and flour

Active Sponsorship

Daily phone calls and guided writing work through the 12 Steps

Regular Meetings

Three meetings per week — in-person, online, or phone

This structure isn't for everyone. But for those of us who've tried everything else, it's what works.
